As most of us dive deeper into the concepts of creative thinking, creativity and innovation we have a major "aha!" : Application of the skills we learn to become a more innovative person -- or a better leader of innovative organizations -- will also lead to a better life in general for ourselves, our families and the people around us.
We ran across an article this morning that takes a look at the difference between "Meaning" and "Happiness". The article gives some interesting research based guidance about where we might apply our creative problem solving efforts, and the different benefits between working on the following two challenges:
- What might be all of the ways to improve my happiness?
- What might be all of the ways to improve my sense of meaning?
Both are important, but they are not the same and each requires a different set of solutions. If either is missing, life is less than it could be. Perhaps the article will stimulate some new ideas about how you might increase both happiness and meaning in your life. It did for us.
