Some challenges are tricky. Complex. Pernicious. Convoluted. Crazy-making. Infuriating. Recurrent. Gnarly.
Do you agree?
On some issues, it seems no matter how hard we try we always arrive at the same unsuccessful strategies.
What's needed are some creative (New & Improved*) answers. So how do you get creative answers? You ask creative questions. Seems obvious, right? Good. You're paying attention.
Below you'll find some trigger questions that help get stuck minds out of thinking ruts. Muddy shoes and sweaty brows won't be needed.
Can we magnify or minimize it? In order to solve your challenge, what can you make larger or smaller? Is there something from the process, price, strategy or offering that can be changed? What can be added, lengthened, strengthened or subtracted? What about changing the focus from one aspect to another to make it more, or less, significant? Example: Ford’s Explorer was incredibly successful and yielded huge profits. So they created the even bigger Expedition and Lincoln Navigator. Next, is the even bigger Excursion. Inversely, flashlight headlamps have become more widely sold and used as they have found ways to get smaller (and lighter on your neck muscles) through technology experimentation.
