Have been teaching and training this idea for ten years. The idea is really helpful in understanding fear of change. The recoil of this part of the brain (like a rattlesnake) can really cause problems. Cognitive Behaviorists tell us to use our front brain and think of varying solutions while assessing the real danger of the events or problem in our lives.
